Conductor

Mr. Alexander Reshetnichenko earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Performance and Education from the National Music Academy of Moldova in Chișinău in May 1994. From 1994 to 1996, he performed with the Radio-TV State Symphony Orchestra of Moldova and participated in concert tours throughout Italy and France, including Corsica.

In 1996, he moved to the United States. In May 1999, he received his Master of Music in Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University. While at SLU, he served as concertmaster of the SLU Chamber Orchestra, played first violin in the SLU String Quartet, and performed with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.

In the fall of 1999, Mr. Reshetnichenko relocated to Albany, Georgia, and began teaching string orchestra in the Dougherty County School System. That same year, he joined the Albany, Macon, and Valdosta Symphony Orchestras. From 1999 until 2008, he served as assistant conductor of the Dougherty County Youth Orchestra (DCYO).

In 2003, he participated in the Missouri Summer Music Festival, performing as first violinist with the Missouri Chamber Orchestra as well as in the string quartet and other chamber ensembles.

Since 2008, Mr. Reshetnichenko has served as Director and Lead Conductor of the DCYO.

In 2015, he was named one of Albany’s Community Heroes and received the Community Hero Award in the Arts.

Today, Mr. Reshetnichenko teaches orchestra at Dougherty High School and Westover High School, conducts the Dougherty County Youth Orchestra, serves as Assistant Concertmaster for the Albany Symphony Orchestra, and performs with various ensembles throughout Georgia.
